How to change control types
One focused task, a quick video, and concise steps you can scan immediately.
You can convert a control without deleting it and rebuilding the layout.
Switch the control type
- Open the page in Layout & Controls.
- Select the control you want to convert.
- In the control properties, select Switch Control.
- Choose the replacement type, such as changing a Slider to a Textbox.
SpreadsheetWeb keeps the control in the same layout position and retains compatible settings. Review the named-range binding, label, default value, validation, and events after the conversion because options that exist only on the original control type may no longer apply. Preview the page before publishing.
